Let me ask you something. I'm not trying to condemn you. I'm trying to wake you up. Are you close to God right now? Or are you just close to the church stuff?

Because you can attend services, you can even post verses, and serve on a team in the church and still be very far from God in your own heart.

Some people do not backslide overnight. They simply drift quietly, slowly and comfortably.

And one day they wake up and realize I don't feel God anymore

and I don't want to do any of this stuff anymore.

Today I want to show you five warning signs that you are far from God.

And I'm actually going to end with some very clear practical paths

to come back to him today.

Jesus said, these people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me, Matthew 158.

Jesus was not speaking of people who had no relation to God, no relation to the temple, and no relation to His Word.

So it's possible to look spiritual outwardly while being very distant inwardly.

In fact, it's even possible to be preaching, leading worship and doing all of those things

because distance from God is not about behavior first.

It starts with something right here.

So let's dive into those signs. The first sign is when prayer feels

optional, not like your spiritual oxygen. When you're close to God, prayer becomes your first thing that you do.

When you are far from God, prayer becomes a chore or a last resort if you really are in trouble. And this is kind of how

it looks like when you are far from God. You only pray when you're in trouble. Also, you rush prayer.

You multitask prayer. You skip it entirely. You meant to pray, but days go by, already weeks go

by and you haven't had a time to talk to God.
