There are some running backs used to be targeting in trades in your fantasy league right now.

These guys are great by-low players right now who can help your team. Whether you're undefeated or you don't even have a win, either way they'll improve your roster. And we can start with the Cardinals running back James Connor, who he's coming off of a poor performance. After a nice start to the season, it's opening up a by-low opportunity on him. And it wasn't just a bad performance. It was like brutally bad.

0:37.7

Look at this. You can see 10 touches for just 25 yards in this game only catches one ball for the Cardinals in a game against the Detroit Lions where we were supposed to see a lot of overall points and fantasy points. We didn't get it. Just three and a half fantasy points, as you can see right here from James Connor. But here's the thing. It was a bad spot for James Connor against the line. So far this season, they allow the fourth fewest rushing yards per game, and they are fourth in EPA per rush allowed, meaning expected points added. They just don't give it up on the ground. But the good news for Connor is, if you looked at the underlying data, which I did for you, you don't even have to, his role was still really strong. Because according to Fantasy Life in week three, Connor played 75% of the snaps. You can count maybe on one. Maybe you have to use a couple extra fingers on your second hand. The amount of running backs that have 75% of the snaps are more in games this season. The rush attempts, he's seeing 56% of those still strong majority of the rush attempts, and that's actually not even factoring out Kyler Murray's carries in this game. So if you're just looking at the backfield, it was over 60% for James Connor of the rush attempts. And maybe more importantly for me, at least, is he ran 54% of the routes in this game, which when you compare it to his backup in Trey Benson, who saw 0% the rookie, that's very encouraging. Now, the one thing that does stand out is Amari Di Mercado, played 21% of the snaps, that's fine, but he did run 14% of the

1:29.0

routes. And more specifically, if we scroll over here, he played 100%, which is like five snaps

1:33.9

of the two-minute offense, which is not something we saw in previous weeks. James Connor was out there

1:38.2

in the two-minute offense. Now, maybe he was just a little bit banged up or he just had a long run

1:41.8

or he just wasn't on the field, but it is usually a conscious decision by coaches to put somebody else out there in that two-minute offense. And that would be my only concern coming out of this game. But again, 75% of the overall snaps for James Connor makes me fine overall if he's not going to see four or five snaps into two-minute offense. Now, most games that could lead to maybe a target or two and a checkdown opportunity, which again is valuable.

2:01.2

So if Amari DiMarcato continues to see that role, it's not great.

2:04.4

But like I said, you're still getting a strong role.

2:07.0

60% of the carries, routes run leading the team still for these running backs in James Conner

2:11.3

and 75% of the snaps.

2:12.7

We're not going to complain about that.

2:13.7

And here's the thing.

2:14.3

I think right now is your last opportunity to buy James Connor, because in week four, he's going to get one of the best matchups, probably score 15 to 20 plus fantasy points and then no one's going to want to trade him again. Because as you can see right here, heading into this week, he's a five point home favorite against the Washington commanders. And the commanders currently enter week four, ranking 27th in tackling and allowing the fifth highest EPA per rush efficiency per rush per rush. That's expected points added per rush.

2:35.5

They just give it up on the ground. So this is a strong spot to be buying Connor, not now, but right now. And then he should also be targeting this next running back. And that's Jordan Mason, who's not as much of a buy low as James Connor because they didn't have as bad of a game in week three. and overall his season performances have been really nice, but Jordan Mason this past week is coming

2:34.2

off of a down week where he didn't find the end zone and because of that he didn't have one of these

2:37.5

bigger overall 20 plus. his season performances have been really nice, but Jordan Mason this past week is coming off of a down

2:50.9

week where he didn't find the end zone and because of that, he didn't have one of these bigger overall 20 plus point days like a lot of running backs did. But like James Connor, the underlying usage remained great for Jordan Mason. 78% of the snaps, once again commanding the backfield snaps of Christian McCaffrey out. 70% of the rush attempts, you're not going to see a lot of guys have this type of volume right here.

2:48.1

Saw all but five carries in this backfield,

2:50.2

and 74% of the routes run,

2:51.8

the number of the rush attempts, you're not going to see a lot of guys have this type of volume right here. Saw all but five carries in this backfield and 74% of the routes run. The knock on Jordan Mason through the first two weeks of the season was, this guy's not even catching passes. Only two catches through two games. Yeah, because he's carrying the ball 24 times per game on the ground during that stretch. Of course, he can't catch it when he's carrying it. Now, in this game, we did kind of see a somewhat new development. Isaac Curendo played 10 snaps. He played some snaps last week, the rookie running back there, but he did earn five carries in this backfield. Again, five carries for him compared to 19 for Jordan Mason. It's not something I'm concerned about. Mason has looked good. I don't really think Isaac Curendo is going to be a big factor in this backfield, maybe somebody in deeper
