Today, we're going to be answering the question, why are Catholic parishes failing?

Yeah, we're going to look at why parishes are failing and closing and look at the

reasons, like demographics, changing models of worship and so much more.

And if the doors of the church are indeed closing, how can we open wide those

doors and open them wide to Christ?

All right, good to be back with you guys. Today, we're joined with Father Josh McCarty from

the diocese of Owensboro. And I'm really excited. This, I think, is a topic that a lot

of people think about, especially over the last few years. And I'm really excited to get this going.

And I am pumped because he is an alumnus brother of mine from Ave Maria College.

It's finally great to be together on this show. This has been a long time coming and I can't

wait to jump into this content. So we got a couple of Jayreens today talking about why people

are going to jump and ship how appropriate. That's excellent. That's excellent.

we've all been driving around and seeing a closed Catholic church. We've all read stories about

the Bishop has to close this amount of parishes. These parishes are merging. And there's a lot of

reasons behind that. And there's very few things that are saddered to me than seeing a building

where people were baptized, married, commended on their death, and have their funeral,

lived and breathed, and then seeing it de-consecrated. And that parish now is gone to history.

That's a terribly sad thing. I mean, it's almost, you know, I mean, there's very few things that

are physical structures that an empty church that are more indicative of the decline of our

society or culture, but also of families that are forgotten and the poor forgotten souls and
