In this video, we are breaking down the running backs that you must have for fantasy football this season.

Now, this is version one of this video will update it every single month, and it's going to begin with the newest member of the Houston Texans, and it's going to be Joe Mixon, who looks like an immediate workhorse back.

Houston traded a seventh round pick to get Joe Mixon, and the reason they did that was they didn't want him to hit the open market, so they gave away something to secure him. And then right after that, you can see right here, he ends up signing a three-year, 25 and a half million dollar deal in extension

with the Texans, so they wanted to commit to him a little bit more long term. And here's the big

piece. 23 million dollars were guaranteed at signing, 13 million additional guaranteed dollars

in what he was already expected to be making. And if you're not familiar with Mixon's game, let me just remind you here.

He's had eight seasons in the NFL.

We can look at his fantasy points per game outside of his rookie year where he had just 10

and he was in a split backfield and he was a rookie.

Since then, a top 20 finish in every single season, never dipping below this year

right here of 14 fantasy points per game. And if you look at these past four seasons, 16 points plus every single

year 15.7 this past year, a top 12 back in all those years, he's just been consistent. And now,

of course, past performance isn't going to predict future results for an aging running back. So let's

add some context here. And now Mixen, in my opinion, joins a less threatening backfield. Just

Damien Pierce is there who lost his job already last year, Devin Singletary, and then the team went out and actually signed Joe Mixum, which just shows you

that, yeah, they wanted somebody else anybody but Pierce. Now, Damian Pierce is still just 28 years old,

but he only averaged 2.8 yards per carry last season, which ranked 69th amongst all

running backs, and he had a pretty decent sample of like 150 carries, so that's not great. And other than that, you're getting a late-round rookie Joar Jordan. You're getting a veteran career backup Jared Doakes, as well as J.J. Taylor,

more of a special team's player. So there's not really anything here that's going to threaten

Joe Mixon besides maybe an injury, which of course, knock on wood, can happen for any running back.

And sometimes running backs change teams and they go to a worse offense, but you can argue that he's going to an improved offense at the very least, going from the Bengals to the Texans is still a quality
