Hello, hello. Emily, about here coming into your feeds with five minute Friday from

0:25.3

hurdle. This has been a week filled with a lot of unexpected things, notably my little bike crash

0:33.2

on Monday, which I wrote about intake today's installment of the weekly hurdle newsletter. I'm sitting

0:41.0

here and my shoulder feels off. I'm like teetering between getting an MRI and waiting for some more

0:48.3

healing time and as much as it does feel a little bit like I can't get a break here between the

0:55.3

foot and the shoulder. I have perspective and I'm grateful for that. I'm also really, really excited

1:02.9

and this is what I want to talk about today, mostly about the safety and numbers event that I'm

1:08.3

hosting on Wednesday, November 2nd at MoMA PS1 with different leaders in the New York City running

1:15.9

community to talk about how we can make strides toward a safer tomorrow. It's arguably the

1:23.7

biggest, let's call it, hurdle event I've ever thrown. I've spoken in front of large groups of

1:31.7

people for different hosting opportunities, but never have I conducted a discussion in a room

1:40.1

that fills a little more than 200 people. It's interesting for me because in putting this together,

1:48.6

I realized that this is going to be the first time that a lot of my peers, people that I see

1:54.7

regularly come together to see me do what I do. I'm awkwardly smiling talking about this,

2:03.9

but also feeling like a little anxiousness in my chest. It's definitely unique. It's definitely

2:10.9

different. It's definitely intimidating, but it makes me feel very sure and also very responsible

2:19.2

about the nature of this conversation. I always, always, always take what I do seriously, but it does

2:26.7

feel a little bit different to think about the fact that this room of my peers and people in my

2:33.0

community, this conversation that we're having, it's just on a different level. It's of a different

2:39.1

importance, and it's something that I truly feel in my heart that I'm ready for, and like I said,

2:47.0

I'm excited for it. To those of you that are in the New York area, I highly encourage you to come.

2:52.3

The capacity is what the capacity is, so hopefully there are some more tickets if you're listening to
