Summary

This week I’m sharing one of my favorite NYC stories (and reflecting on a time when riding the subway was something I did regularly. You may have a tough time believing this one, involving a man and I exchanging glances in the subway and "re-connecting" in a super unexpected way.

digging in to the archives. If you can also not believe what I'm about to tell you, I would love

to hear about it over on social. Tag me, hit me up at Hurtle podcast and also at

It's like, I want to say four or five years ago, and I'm leaving Midtown Manhattan,

1:05.7

the pod rooftop in Grand Central, waiting for the subway to arrive and go uptown.

1:12.4

I'm standing on the platform, and I see a man on the opposite platform who's about to go downtown.

1:29.3

And I get off the subway and I call my friend and I say to her, the weirdest thing just happens.

1:35.1

You know, as New Yorkers, I feel like we are trained to not maintain eye contact with a single

1:40.8

soul. But in this instance, I made eye contact with this person not once,

1:46.2

not twice, but three times. I said, the weirdest thing happened to me at Grand Central.

1:53.2

This guy and this thing, and I explained it all to her. She said, you need to post that on

1:59.0

misconnections. And I was like, what are you talking about?

2:01.3

She's like, Craigslist misconnections. So for those of you that don't know, there is an entire

2:05.6

board on Kreislist dedicated to misconnections, people looking for other people that they might

2:11.7

not know that have literally missed their opportunity to connect. And so I did it. I went on misconnections. I posted and I said,

2:21.0

if you were the man on the South platform at Grand Central at this time and you could tell me what

2:27.2

I was wearing, what I looked like, what my hair looked like, then maybe we were meant to meet.
