| 0:20.4 | What's going on, everyone? Emily here. You're listening to Five Minute Friday on Hurtle. Good morning. Good afternoon. Good evening. Whenever you are listening to this. I am recording in beautiful sunny Los Angeles, not trying to rub it in. I saw a lot of flood content on the socials |
| 0:41.1 | of what's going on in New York this week. I made the decision that I would just hang out on |
| 0:46.4 | the West Coast until Saturday. Nice little holiday weekend kickoff for me, if you will. I came out |
| 0:52.9 | here to host an event for On. They recently announced |
| 0:57.5 | their OAC Sprint team. They train out of Mount Sack here in Los Angeles. And so I came out and was |
| 1:05.4 | able to have such an unbelievable experience doing that inside of the historical L.A. Coliseum where famously my girl, |
| 1:15.4 | Jumbo Knight-Samuelson, won the inaugural Women's Olympic Marathon back in 1984. So, yeah, pretty surreal. |
| 1:25.1 | But I digress. I went on a run this morning. I, so I ran the half last weekend in Brooklyn, the Brooklyn half put on by New York Roadrunners. It was such a fun day. And I'm definitely still a bit in recovery mode from that. So I went out to do a workout this morning. It was kilometer repeats. I had |
| 1:47.9 | three of them. And when I tell you that I really had to give myself grace and I really had to meet |
| 1:54.2 | myself with where I was at, that is such an understatement. It just, I felt like my legs were super heavy, but I also, |
| 2:04.0 | while being like, this is not feeling as easy as I hoped that it could feel, was so appreciative |
| 2:10.8 | of the environment around me. I was running around Silver Lake Reservoir and just felt so grateful to be in the sunshine and |
| 2:21.5 | knowing that there was a really yummy breakfast on the other side of that run. |
| 2:26.8 | I had to do a little bit of both. |
| 2:28.9 | I had to hype myself up and appreciate what I had to give. |
| 2:32.7 | And I had to recognize that this is just how it is in this |
| 2:35.7 | moment, not judge it to another workout perhaps from the past or maybe what I know that I am |
| 2:42.6 | capable of. And again, meet myself with where I'm at. And more often than not, that can be really challenging. It can be really challenging to |
| 2:53.7 | accept how things are. There are a lot of things in my life right now that I both have gratitude for |
| 2:58.7 | and maybe wish that they were a little bit different. I feel like there are a lot of things |
