Summary
Things have been slower lately, and I'm OK with that. As I navigate injury and get familiar with a new strength training routine, I find comfort in the stillness. Chatting about that, plus what makes a purpose statement in today's episode.

| 0:00.0 | Hey everybody, Emily Abadi here, you are listening to an episode of 5 Minute Friday from |
| 0:25.9 | Hurtle. I feel like I am finally back. My voice is in full effect after last week's marathon |
| 0:33.6 | festivities. I want to give so much thanks and appreciation to everyone that came out, not |
| 0:39.7 | just for the strength and numbers conversation, but also for the events that happened throughout |
| 0:45.0 | the weekend and also for showing up on Sunday, what a special day here in New York cheering |
| 0:50.0 | on. Both friends and strangers alike running through this amazing place as part of the New |
| 0:57.0 | York City Marathon. I'm so happy that I was able to be a part of it. So that's that. I want to |
| 1:03.3 | talk this week about morning routines for 5 Minute Friday because I've been thinking a lot about |
| 1:09.2 | the benefit of slowing down lately. I have talked before on the show about how diligent I've been |
| 1:17.4 | in the past with my morning routine, breathwork, journaling, nispresso, working out, etc. |
| 1:24.9 | And a byproduct of what happened leading up to the London marathon at the London marathon after |

| 1:50.6 | in that I am strength training four days a week right now, which is a big pivot from where I was |
| 1:56.7 | previously running for five days a week. But on top of the strength training, I'm doing a lot |
| 2:03.2 | of walking. And so I've completely rejiggered my morning routine in that it will start with |
| 2:10.6 | the nispresso and the strength training. But then I will get out for my walk and I'll walk for about |
| 2:19.4 | an hour, come back inside, do breathwork, do journaling, then get in the shower and start the |
| 2:27.0 | rest of my day, including breakfast and athletic greens and whatnot. And I say this because I feel |
| 2:33.0 | like sometimes we need permission to be flexible in our methods. We need permission to change the |
| 2:38.5 | plan. We are inundated so often by the things that we see on social media about what we should |
