Summary
The last episode in season 7! HOW? When!? Time is flying. Today, I'm talking about a lesson that hit home for me today at the Pequot Runners' Turkey Trot. I've been running this race for four years, and for the past three years — I ran a faster time each one. For 5-MINUTE FRIDAY this week, I'm talking about why it's OK not to continue that trend.

| 0:00.0 | Hey everyone, Emily, about to hear you are listening to 5 Minute Friday from Hurtle. |
| 0:26.2 | I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is the last episode in season 7, geez, time, time |
| 0:33.9 | feels like it is moving at warp speed and also at times super, super slow. And I say that |
| 0:42.7 | sitting in my bedroom at my mom's house, which still has things on the shelves from when |
| 0:49.4 | I graduated college. I see my high school yearbook on the shelf, my Yukon yearbook. I don't |
| 0:54.8 | even know I got a Yukon yearbook. Man, it's kind of crazy, right? The season itself packed with |
| 1:02.7 | so much goodness, so grateful for so many of the awesome conversations. And I'd love it if you |
| 1:07.5 | have a specific guest or topic that you want to hear from or about in season 8, which will kick |
| 1:13.9 | start a week from this Monday. I am all ears. So feel to reach out to us over on email or DM. |
| 1:21.2 | Email is hello at hurdle.us and DM always over at hurdle podcast. And I am over at Emily, a |
| 1:27.9 | body. But on this note of recognizing where you are now, perhaps, and maybe feeling a little |
| 1:34.6 | bit sentimental. So this morning, freshly recording this on Thanksgiving for all of you, I ran the |
| 1:41.4 | Pequot Runners Turkey trot, which happens in Southport, Connecticut. I've been running this race. |
| 1:46.3 | We figured out at our post race diner breakfast. This is my fourth time. I feel like I've been doing |
| 1:52.9 | it for much longer than that. But again, time, it's fleeting. And I, yesterday, before this morning, |
| 1:59.9 | took a look at my last three races. And I'll never forget how amped I was the first time I ran |
| 2:07.4 | this race because I ran it in sub eight minutes splits. And for me, that was like, I always think back |
| 2:14.3 | when something like that happens. And it feels really landmark to the girl that could barely run |
| 2:19.8 | a mile. In fact, she couldn't at that time. And the girl that was working her butt off to learn how |
| 2:27.5 | to excel at this thing that she was told for so long that she just couldn't do. I was looking at |
| 2:36.0 | these races and these times and feeling really proud of the progression each year back to back, |
| 2:40.8 | being faster than the last, the last time I ran this race two years ago because of the COVID |
