Hello and welcome to the PFF Fantasy podcast. I'm your host, Nathan Yaki. This episode is presented by Yahoo Fantasy.

0:07.5

I'm excited today to talk about five of my favorite fantasy football league winners this season,

0:12.5

all of whom have elite upside all have an opportunity to finish among the top five at their position.

0:18.3

But before we get started, if you haven't subscribed yet, it would be a

0:21.6

huge help to us, and it would help make sure that you don't miss an episode as we gear up for the

0:26.2

busy fantasy football season this year. Now, our first league winner this year is Brian Thomas,

0:31.3

Jr., a wide receiver of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Thomas gained at least 13 ppr points in each of

0:36.8

his final seven games last season,

0:39.0

averaging 21.5 points during that stretch, which was third best among wide receivers, only behind

0:44.8

Jamar Chase and Puka Nicua. He played at least 84% of his snaps over that stretch outside of one

0:50.8

game, so he was very consistently on the field, the Che Guevore's clear top

0:55.0

wide receiver over the season. And he most notably stood out in his play in the slot, where he

1:00.1

averaged 3.12 yards per route run, which was the best for all wide receivers with at least

1:06.0

100 snaps out of the slot. So it was a very good season, not just out wide where we expected Thomas to do well,

1:12.5

but also in the slot. And the big reason for optimism this year and why we can expect him to

1:18.1

take an even bigger jump is because Liam Cohen is his new head coach. And Cohen has had a lot

1:23.5

of success with slot receivers in his time in the NFL. Going back to 2022, Cooper Cup,

1:29.1

who only played nine games that season, averaged 22.4 fantasy points per game, which was the

1:34.7

best among wide receivers that year. So Cup was their top slot receiver playing over 50%

1:41.8

of his snaps in the slot. And then similarly, in 2024, it was Chris Godwin, who was their slot receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, only played seven games that season.

1:51.8

But he averaged 19.7 PPR points per game out of the slot, playing over 60% of his snaps there.

1:58.9

And Thomas, there's already been quotes out of Cohen where he's going to play more in the
