So, five lies, Satan wants you to believe about fasting.

The first lie is that fasting is starvation and not spiritual. See, the devil would want you to believe you're just starving yourself.

You're just like on some kind of a hunger strike.

And, you know, this is just physical.

You're just getting into just starving yourself and everything.

But in reality it's not. Fasting is spiritual.

Drop this in the chat. Fasting is spiritual. It's not a starvation. And so the enemy will plan

these lies in your mind as you're starting to fast and that is you're just starving yourself.

This is just a physical almost like

a hunger strike and you know and God is going to bless you regardless. God loves you regardless

which is true. God does love you. God will bless you but at the same time fasting is spiritual.

There's a spiritual component to fasting. In fact, you know, I wrote a little book called

a beginner's guide to fasting. And in there, I highlighted the history or the cultures that experience

fasting. Like, for example, fasting is found in all religions and cultures throughout history.

Ancient Greeks practice fasting as a form of purification before participating in religious rituals,

believing that it cleansed the body and the mind and made them more worthy to approach the deity.

Romans practice fasting as preparation for certain religious ceremonies

and to ward off evil influences from benevolent entities. Egyptians associated fasting with

mourning and honoring the dead. They believe that it honored the gods and the dead to fast,
