For the last episode of 2024, we wanted to revisit some of our favorite stories we've covered.

I've been passionate about science since before I can remember.

and we'll share how a nonprofit in Phoenix is helping people experiencing homelessness

get back on their feet this holiday season.

So my goal is that when they walk away from us at the end of the day,

they know that somebody cares about them.

It's so important for kids to have access to books because books open up new worlds.

Miss Mays is a self-proclaimed radical street librarian in Baltimore,

who's giving kids access to books they otherwise might not get.

Her initiative is called Storybook Maze.

And this year, she's given away 4,000 books to kids who need them in three innovative ways.

I have free public book vending machines where kids get a little golden token

and they can take out a free book.

I'd be street corner story time, showing up where people already are,

and pop-up free book giveaways.
