Appreciate you checking out the show today. I'm really liking these Tuesday episodes because I can hit on a specific topic. I don't have to rush through it as part of an already long Monday episode. I definitely think it's been working out better. And hopefully everybody's been liking the extra episodes as well. Now, we're four weeks into the season. And I know a lot of you have hit me up and told me

0:38.4

how good your teams are doing. That is awesome. I am really, really happy with like 95% of my teams too, including the Scott Fishbowl where I moved up. I'm in third overall out of 3,000 teams right now. That is so cool. We are nowhere near the finish line though. I'm off to a great start. I'm not complaining. It is an awesome start. And I was actually surprised that I moved up this week. I thought I was going to drop a little bit because I was without DeAndre Swift. I was without a Munra St. Brown. Gabe Davis is playing at less than 100%. I got Cordero Paterson now on IR. So I got a little work to do if I'm going to stay near the top, but definitely happy with how things are going so far. I would much rather be working from a position of strength rather than being way down and trying to claw my way back up into contention. Unfortunately though, that is sometimes the case with our teams. Sometimes we can blame it on injuries. Sometimes it's the players you picked and they just straight up busted. It happens. It is not always smooth sailing in the fantasy world. So for today's show, I want to go over some of the moves that I think people could make to potentially save their seasons right now. Maybe you're 0 and 4, maybe you're 1 and 3. You need that boost. You need to squeeze out every bit of value you can to

1:44.8

turn things around here well I got a few ideas that I think could help with that

1:48.4

some are strategy based some are specific players that you should look to acquire

1:52.2

and I think everybody could take something away from this it's most useful for

1:55.9

teams that are struggling but these are moves that everybody can use to their

1:59.4

advantage so for the first one it's a move that I've talked about every year around this time. It's manipulating the buy weeks. So if you've got a losing record, if you need to get some wins fast, you need to write the ship, you don't want to have to deal with buy weeks over the next month or so. Buy weeks, they're starting up in week six. It's almost here. That's next week.

2:18.1

And because we're still one week away, people might not be thinking about them yet. So take a look at your roster. You see if any of your players have buys over the next month. If they do, you trade them for players that don't have buys until November or early December. and I'm not saying sell low on these guys,

2:34.4

but you try to get equal value,

2:36.4

just equal value on someone who has that late season buy. You give yourself a little bit of time. You give yourself a little bit of a buffer. And then if that works, you got a few more wins, maybe get back up to 500. Then in a month or so, you can do the reverse move you trade the guys with

2:51.7

the late season buys for guys who already had their buys and that way you're constantly fielding a

2:57.0

full power lineup you don't have players sitting out and yeah it involves a lot of work this is one

3:02.0

where you're going to have to put the effort in and it also requires you to not mention this at all

3:06.3

you can't talk about buy weeks at all when you're negotiating the trade. You don't want the other manager to know what you're doing. But if you can pull it off, it can give you a really big edge and it can help you claw your way back into the playoff mix. Because I've found it's just not something that people are really paying close attention to. And they're negotiating trades. They're not thinking about when these buy weeks are landing and how that could impact their

3:26.8

team at all. They just see the names in the trades. Rarely do they consider what the buy

3:31.5

weeks could mean. And if you want to go one step further with it, then this one is a real long

3:36.0

shot, but you could try to trade players that have buy weeks on a specific week to the team

3:40.8

that you're playing that week. So you're making on a specific week to the team that you're playing that week.

3:41.6

So you're making them shorthanded in the game that they're going up against you just gives you another little extra advantage.

3:47.6

But that is some real desperation stuff on that one.
