Welcome back to the channel.

Now many of you know for many years I was on the faculty at the Oregon Health and Science University, which is in Portland, Oregon.

And I always tell people it has two seasons there in Portland, Oregon.

You got your three months of the most beautiful summer you've ever experienced in your life.

And then you've got nine months where it feels like you're sleeping under the mister in the produce section of the supermarket,

and it's just misting you constantly with not a little bit of sunshine for nine straight months.

And that part is a little bit rough.

But as many of you know, I would ride my bike to and from work, and I think of something like 16 miles round trip,

and I had a

waterproof outfit and it didn't bother me that much. But then I moved to San Francisco and we

get you know 800 more hours of sunshine or something like that per year and it was like a fog

was lifted off my head. But today I went for for a long ride to work, and of course,

it was raining just like Portland, Oregon. And so it brought back a lot of memories. And that's

why my hair is soaking wet, because I was out there for eight miles in the bluster and wind.

And I don't know how I was so used to it because now it doesn't feel quite the same.

Okay, anyway, we're here to talk about science.

This is a video about science, and I think that's what the thumbnail should say.

I was actually listening recently, and I heard a couple of people talking about thoughts on science broadly.

And I thought to myself, they said a lot of things I really agree with.

They said some things I didn't agree with, but they didn't say so many of the things I would have wanted

to say. And I was like, you know what? You just make your own video about what you think
