Apparently is a two-year rule in therapy refers to the ethical guideline from the American Psychological Association.

Therapists cannot engage in sexual intimacy with former clients for at least two years after therapy ends,

with a burden on the therapist to prove the relationship isn't exploitive.

Though some codes like the ACA suggest longer periods like five years.

Interesting.

My therapy friend, whose friends with me, started seeing one of my other friends,

like my other friends started seeing the therapist. And so the therapist stopped coming to, like, friend hangs if that person was there. She's like, yeah, I'm not even going to. She's like, she's like, you can't not influence, like, how someone acts by just being, you know what I mean. I saw that too. It said here, no, I was looking up with another thing on this.

So you can't be a friend at a client.

She's like, oh, is this person going? And I'm like, yeah, she's like, yeah, I can't come. That is conflict. What a way to get out of things, though, too, man.

I won't say this guy's name, but he said, I caught on a therapist because she had me do five-minute breathing sessions. I don't think those are a bad thing. He's paying money for it. Yeah, and it was supposed to call me down, but I got upset I was paying $6 to breathe and listen to bells. I have the same brain as that. I'm like, yeah, we're going to skip the breathing and just get into it. So thank you. I'm starting with a new guy who's doing his practical. And he has a discounted rate of $15 an hour to get his training in. That's one thing I think stops a lot of people. Not only the stigma, but the cost.
