I don't know about you, but because of our segments we've been doing, we've been

doing with the knife media, I think about this more than I even did before when I see headlines

and that sort of stuff. For instance, I was thinking about this last Friday when the news broke

that the economy grew by 2.3% and in the New York Times, they said the economy putered along at 2.3%

they didn't just say grow at 2.3% and let you decide whether or not you think that's good or bad or

whatever, puttering along. Right. Well, I tell you what, let's launch into that discussion with

Jen Zarek, gold, the editor in chief and co-developer of the knife media. Jen's it's good to talk to you

again. How are you? I'm well. It seems like we're achieving our mission here. Yeah, exactly.

Well, so and we've discussed the fact that neither you nor we are anti-colorful writing. It can

make stuff more fun to read, just the reader ought to be aware of the way they're being manipulated,

whether intentionally or unintentionally. Like, I don't mind the word puttered and it's kind of

descriptive, but that does hint at something, doesn't it? Yeah, sure does. I mean, no, that kind of

language is fine. The issue is to market as opinion if it's going to be opinion and to keep the news

news. Now, that was the that was the breaking news. This just came out how the economy grew from

the New York Times was a news story and they said puttered to make you think, oh, it was bad if you

don't know much about economics. In spite of the fact that an inanimalized race, that's far

superior to the last several years. Yeah. Right. Exactly. It's all it's you have to put it in

context, especially if you looked at right after the recession, that would have been, you know, a

great growth rate. And so the adjective tells you a lot about how you're supposed to take in the

information. And to make it clear, if you've never heard this before, both sides do it conservative

liberal news outlets. It's this is a nonpartisan sort of thing here. Yeah. And in fact, I've

carefully selected a couple of different topics with which will warrant a kicking of both sides.
