James Tolerico was a moderate. He's not a moderate. He's a populist. He's a progressive. He's pretty far to the left on a lot of issues. He codes as moderate to a lot of people because of his religiosity. That gets him in the door with a lot of voters, including a lot of Hispanic voters. Ah, yes. And Hispanic voters.

The Democrats always want first to know the race of the person, so they know how to

behave around them.
