I'm Rob Stats Carrera. Today is June 13, 23. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers.

Regardless of skepticism from some fans, myself included, the NFLPA thinks Brock Purdy's stock is going to the moon this season.

More specifically, the marketing and licensing arm of the NFLPA, who placed Brock first on a list

of 10 veteran players they identified as rising stars this season.

According to the NFLPA website, quote, the list is meant to identify top rookies and veterans,

poised to have breakout seasons,

gain fan support, and ultimately rank among the top sellers of all officially licensed player merchandise.

End quote.

It is true that pretty much any 49er starting quarterback is likely to drive jersey sales.

But there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about Brock's chances this season,

particularly if he remains healthy enough to be back on the field and effective for week one.

First of all, he's going to have more preseason reps with the first team,

even if he isn't fully cleared

until just before the final preseason game, like Matt Mayoko reported. Remember, he was

third string last year. He couldn't see the first team with binoculars. Also, he has eight

games of experience under his belt. And yes, I know, it's not much. I've been telling you that,

but it's eight more games than he had going into last season, right? Plus, he's going to have

Christian McCaffrey for a full year, and McCaffrey is going to have an entire offseason to finish

learning the 49ers offense, which he himself admitted he's looking forward to. And last but not least, you're going to get a better

Debo Samuel this year. He's going to be in better shape than he was last year. Debo himself admitted

that, calling 2022, quote, awful. So, yeah, let's just say it's not hard to see where the NFL
