0:14.1	I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Friday, July 4th, 2025. Happy Independence Day, everybody.
0:19.7	Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers.
0:23.5	Today's preview takes us to the secondary and specifically the second best cornerback on the team,
0:29.5	Renardo Green. Green was the second round pick in 2024, the highest drafted corner that Kyle
0:35.1	and John Lynch have ever selected, and he rewarded that
0:38.6	faith last year. Very, very solid campaign. He played in every game, including seven starts.
0:44.5	He had a coverage grade of 74.3, which was 28th among all corners in the NFL. And his lone
0:51.5	interception helped to seal a game against the Seattle Seahawks, which was actually
0:55.6	the only game they would win in the NFC West the entire season. And now in 2025, with Mooney Ward
1:02.8	gone, Green has been penciled in as a starter alongside Di Amador-Lanour. The Niners past defense was weird
1:09.6	last season. They only allowed 6.7 yards per
1:12.8	attempt, which was fourth in the NFL, but we know they were terrible in the red zone and they
1:18.1	didn't force nearly enough turnovers. The Niners only generated 17 takeaways all year last
1:25.1	season. And listen to this. In their last nine games, so more than
1:29.7	half a season, the Niners only generated two takeaways. That is hideously bad. If they are
1:36.8	going to rebound in 2025, they are going to have to take the football away. And Renardo Green
1:42.9	will hopefully be a big part of that.
