| 0:00.0 | Good morning and welcome to 49ers in 5, your daily update on everything happening with the team that you need to know. |
| 0:13.9 | I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Friday, March 6, 26. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers. |
| 0:22.1 | Kyle Shanahan is not going to announce the full coaching staff for this year until the |
| 0:26.4 | owner's meetings at the end of the month, but we did get a couple of additions yesterday. |
| 0:31.0 | First, according to Tom Pelliserro of NFL media, Matt Eberfluse is joining the staff as |
| 0:36.0 | the team's assistant head coach of defense. |
| 0:38.7 | He fills the role vacated by Gus Bradley, who of course followed Robert Sala to Tennessee. |
| 0:44.2 | Iber flus was the Cowboys defensive coordinator last year, and I know, I know what you're thinking, |
| 0:49.1 | the Cowboys defense was Buns last year, and that is very true. |
| 0:53.5 | But that's why it's a very good thing |

| 1:07.1 | extensive history as a linebacker's coach. And remember, the 49ers traditionally have |
| 1:12.0 | liked defensive coordinators with linebacker experience. Rahim Morris doesn't have that. He's got |
| 1:17.5 | experience in the secondary. So maybe Iber Fluse can help in that area. Not only did he coach the |
| 1:23.2 | position for years in college, he also spent nine years in the NFL as a linebacker's coach before |
| 1:29.0 | becoming a defensive coordinator. And he actually has some success stories in that area. He helps |
| 1:34.2 | Sean Lee become an all pro with the Cowboys in 2016. And he was the defensive coordinator of |
| 1:40.0 | the Colts when Shaq Leonard was an all propro and one defensive rookie of the year in 2018. |
| 1:46.2 | Again, none of this has been reported. |
| 1:47.9 | That's me speculating, but I'm just trying to connect some dots here. |
| 1:51.5 | He could also potentially be seen as insurance in case Rahim Morris leaves the team for a head |
