I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Thursday, August 14th, 2025. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers.

Joint practice with the Raiders begins today in Las Vegas.

Not really sure what to expect because we aren't really sure they'd even have enough

healthy bodies to have the practice in the first place.

Hopefully it goes a little better than the Denver practice where they kind of got

knocked around a little bit.

It's going to be interesting to see if some of the banged up guys like Upton Stout actually

find a way out onto the field.

Remember, Kyle values the joint practices more than the preseason games.

So let's see what he does.

No one spoke at the podium yesterday because of the travel.

But Kyle Shanahan did join Sirius XM NFL

radio and he said something that people seem to have strong feelings about. First, he talked

about how this year's team compares to what they had in the early years of his tenure.

To me, the biggest difference between now and 17 is that some of these guys that have been here

are still here and we got a group of these guys that have been here are still here.

And we've got a group of players, you know, whether it's five, whether seven, whatever it is, that are difference makers. Some borderline Hall of Fame players, too. But when you look at the rest of the roster, that's what reminds me a little bit more of 17 and 18, that we need to add a bunch of youth. We need to get guys who are younger, you know, so
