I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Wednesday, March 27th, 2024. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers. The league meetings are still

in full swing form of Orlando, and yesterday we heard from Jed York and Kyle Shanahan. Let's start

with Jed York. Famously, around 10 years ago, he said, we don't hang NFC championship banners

around here. We win Super Bowls.

However, recently, Jed said that this year would have been a success for the 49ers,

even if they had lost to the Lions in the playoffs. So Grant Cohn caught up with Jed and asked him,

has your thinking changed from 10 years ago?

No, I mean, I just think you can't be ashamed of a successful season, right?

And our goal is always going to be to win Super Bowls.

And even if we won the game, it's not like, okay, well, we can take off 2024 because

we won the Super Bowl in 2023.

Our goal is always going to be the same.

But what I've learned in my time is CEO, it's not a complete failure to not win.

Where I had probably more of a, you either win the Super Bowl or you 100% lose.

You can't not celebrate the fact that we've accomplished some really good things with this team.

And I would trade a lot of good seasons for winning a Super Bowl.

But we've collectively had a very, very successful program. And I want to make sure that we continue to do that. And the only way to win the Super Bowl but we've collected we had a very very successful program and I want

you have to get there first and we've obviously been very close several times

and you have to keep building off of it but you you can't you can't it's funny

I mean I think you and I talked about this mad like a little off the record over a drink where it's like, it's almost worse to lose the Super Bowl than to not make the playoffs.
