Good morning and welcome to 49ers in 5, your daily update on everything happening with the team that you need to know.

I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Monday, January 5th, 26. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers. The regular season is

officially over and we now know where the Niners will be for the first round of the playoffs.

Despite the loss to Seattle on Saturday, San Francisco won 12 games and ultimately finished

as the sixth seed in the NFC. They will travel to the city of Brotherly Love to take on the number 3 seed Philadelphia Eagles at 1 p.m. Pacific time on Sunday.

After the game, George Kittle knew the Niners would be on the road, and he was honest about it.

We lost a home to a division rival for the division and the one seed.

That sucks.

That is what it is.

And yes, I'm disappointed about it.

It's horrible.

Good news is I got to play football next week.

Whether it's Saturday, Sunday, Monday, whenever it is, I get to play football again.

And it's going to be on the road in a hostile environment.

Would I much rather be on a buy and get to play at Levi Stadium? Yeah, but that's just not our reality. Obviously, it is going to be an uphill battle for the Niners in the playoffs. But Kyle Shanahan is 2-1 against Nick Siriani in his career. And the one came when Brock Purdy's elbow exploded in 2022. We all know it is not going to be easy.

But Christian McCaffrey brought that up after the loss to the Seahawks.

This whole season's been difficult for us and we've continued to beat the odds,

continue to show people that we're a real football team.

We didn't show it today.

We know that.

But I love the guys in the locker room and how we've responded all year. And, you know, again, put it on myself. I'm going to

come back ready to go and I know everybody in that locker room well as well. Once the playoffs start,
