Good morning and welcome to 49ers in 5, your daily update on everything happening with the team that you need to know.

I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers. We'll get to Kyle Shanahan's

conference call in a minute, but first, we begin with the injury report. Five players that

Kyle Shanahan talked about yesterday, four of them on the defensive side of the ball, and three

of those were on the defensive line. The good news here is that everybody

I'm about to list is officially day to day. Sam Okuanu, ankle, Jordan Elliott, ankle, D Winners,

knee, Alfred Collins, shoulder, and Mack Jones knee contusion. Bryce Huff and Jake Brendel,

unfortunately, are both, quote, pretty unlikely to play

against the Giants, but not officially ruled out just yet. Ben Barch is going to have his practice

window opened on Wednesday. Brandon Ayuk will not have his practice window open this week.

Kind of surprising, considering Kyle said on Friday, there was a chance

that that could happen. So what gives? I think it's week to week from here on out that he's got a chance.

I mean, I think it would have surprised me if it was this week. But that was just me saying that

every week, I think he's getting closer to having a chance, just not this week. Okay, That's frustrating. All right. Well, what about another wide receiver that we've been waiting on? Is Ricky Pearsall any closer to getting back on the field? I hope so. I bet he's, I mean, I'm sure he's doing better this week than last week, but so I haven't been told that I'll for sure be back. We'll have to evaluate that when we get to Wednesday. Man, it is kind of crazy to see that we are still, quote, hoping to see if Ricky can come back. When you told us a month ago, Kyle, he had a, quote, minor PCL injury. What about Brock Purdy, Kyle? Is it a long shot we see him back this week against the Giants? I think it's too early to say. I don't think it's a long shot, but I know he's doing better. And we'll see how he's doing Wednesday. Hopefully, if he's doing good, he'll get in some reps. Shanahan said the famously dangerous MetLife turf will not be a consideration when it comes to Purdy returning from that toe injury.

Let's get away from guys that are banged up for a second.

How about a guy who's not hurt?

Nick Martin, the Niners have multiple injuries at linebacker right now, Kyle.

Is Martin going to play this week?

He's behind Curtis in that pecking order.

If he couldn't go versus Giants, it depends on how these three practices go. So he's got a lot more opportunities, being able to be up for a game week these last two weeks.

He's done real good on special teams.

So I think he's coming along fine.
