I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Friday, September 1st, 2023. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers.

We begin, as always, with our favorite thing.

The injury update.

Multiple starters missed practice on Thursday.

George Kittle, Jordan Mason, Orrin-Burks, Telenoa Hufanga, Dre Greenlaw, and Tashon Gibson all worked out off to the side. There is some concern about Kittles

injury that he may not be ready to go week one, but the Niners are doing everything they can

to try and get him out on the field against the Steelers. Now, speaking of that as we move to the

audio portion of the show, defensive coordinator Steve Wilkes met with the media yesterday and gave us his

scouting report on the Steelers.

We've already looked at a few things, just giving our guys an opportunity to try to

settle in a little bit, you know, particularly with first and second down things.

Just watching them on tape.

We've been doing that for a while as a coaching staff.

So those guys are playing well. I think the quarterback second year guy, he's looking phenomenal.

He's taking that second year leap, doing some great things. They have the vertical threats down the field that can make things happen in any moment.

And they have a very impressive solid run game.

So we definitely got our hands, you know,

feel right with these guys coming up next week.

Of all the games on the 49ers schedule,

playing in Pittsburgh against the Steelers is not the one I would have picked for week one.
