0:43.7	I'm Rob Stats-Garer. Today is Monday, June 12th, 2023. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers.
0:52.2	49ers Enterprises will soon complete their takeover as owners of the soccer club Leeds United.
0:59.2	If you're wondering, like me by the way, 49ers Enterprises is not the same as the San Francisco
1:05.3	49ers NFL franchise. It is controlled by the owners of the 49ers and its president, Parag Marate,
1:13.1	does have responsibilities in both organizations, but 49ers Enterprises is an investment
1:19.4	vehicle. According to the athletic, it is set up to seek private equity opportunities away
1:25.1	from the NFL. The reason I bring it up here is because the takeover could
1:30.3	have an effect on the 49ers football team, you know, the thing you actually care about.
1:36.1	Parag Marate is Leeds existing vice president and he's going to become the club chairman
1:41.9	and he will have active responsibility for the overall
1:45.0	management of the team.
1:47.2	But the day-to-day activities are going to be handled by Leeds CEO Angus Kinnear.
1:52.9	So it's not like Parag is going to have to be there every single day.
1:56.4	In fact, he'll probably stay in the United States.
1:59.7	So where does that leave Marate and the 49ers?
2:03.1	We don't really know right now. We know that Parag usually handles contract negotiations
