Good morning and welcome to 49ers in 5, your daily update on everything happening with the team that you need to know.

I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Wednesday, January 7th, 26. Here's what's happening with your 4-9ers. No injury report yesterday as the team was off,

but the NFL coaching carousel is in full swing, and we got word that the Arizona Cardinals

have officially requested permission to interview 409ers defensive coordinator Robert Sala.

As of this recording, they're the only team

that has publicly expressed interest in the defensive coordinator, but a lot of these things are

done behind the scenes, and I'm sure that will change. Sala himself should have interest in the

Baltimore Ravens job, which just became available for the first time in 18 years after John Harbaugh was fired,

but I'm sure we'll have plenty more time to talk about Robert Salas head coaching options in the

weeks to come. Let's look ahead to Philadelphia. We all know the Niners have a tall task ahead of them

and they will be facing another good defense. Brock Purdy spoke with Mike Flororeo yesterday, and he pointed to one area where the offense

has to improve on Wild Card Weekend.

The third down conversions.

If you can't stay on the field, especially against a good defense like that, and they're

going to create some momentum for their team if they get off the field and then their offense can go

and do what they did and they just control the clock. It's hard, you know, to overcome that and

win. So that's something that, you know, I'm just hard on myself and moving forward. It's like,

man, how can you find ways to convert on third down, stay on the field, and then go from there, obviously,

to go get points.

But that's something that we've been so good at all year, converting on third downs and

making these long drives happen and converting points off of them.

And we just failed to do that on Saturday.
