I'm Rob Stats Guerrera. Today is Friday, May 17th, 2024. Here's what's happening with your San Francisco 49ers.

Yesterday was the Dwight Clark Legacy charity event and it featured a lot of the 49ers family.

Steve Young was there, Jeff Garcia, Alex Smith, and Brock Purdy all there, all on stage at the same time.

Brock told a lot of good stories.

He actually took us back to his rookie season the week before his first ever start against

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.

The coaches, everybody in the organization, we're like, all right, can we roll with you for

the rest of the year, you know, and we're down to our third quarterback.

And does this guy have what it takes?

All those things, the questions.

And next thing you know, you got Tom Brady rolling in town and my family I mean you guys have

probably all heard the story there he booked their tickets like before the season

even started to come this game to watch Tom so anyways yeah all of that all

of that put together.

I was like, man, this is, this is it, you know, like this is the, for me it was in the back

of my mind, like, you know, I get one opportunity here, let's see what we can do with

it.

And, you know, was I playing against Tom Brady and all that kind of thing?

Like, yes, his team, but it was, it was the buck's defense. That's what I was going up against.

And that's where my mindset was at once the game started. And then obviously we rolled and we
