Well, this has been going on for months now and for the past week or so we've been

in a holding pattern as to what will or won't happen with the 49ers and receiver Brandon I.

A quick background, he's in the final year of his rookie contract, 50 year option of

14.1 million, not nearly enough to play Kate,

a guy who was a second team all pro-pro last year, not Pro Bowlers, second team

all-pro, 1342 receiving yards, led the league for starters in yards per target at 12.7. High-end

potential 49ers haven't wanted to pay him what he's been looking to get

other teams willing to do it.

So yesterday, yesterday, the first development was Steelers and 49ers finally have a deal in place for Brandon Iuk. And then when it felt like it was just a matter

of time before both teams turned the key, both teams communicate the key both

communicate the terms to the league the trade is done then we hear not

surprisingly the 49ers have finally realized maybe we should just pay him what the Steelers are going to

pay him and keep him and hey you know as the saying goes and I'm probably going to

butcher it but wisdom often never arrives at all.

We shouldn't complain that it shows up late.

Maybe this is what the 49ers needed.

To finally come to the conclusion,

we should just pay this guy.

Yeah, we wanted to keep him for one more year at 14.1

But all these other teams are willing to pay him what we're not willing to pay him.
