Hello everyone, this is David Sparks, joined by my old pal Stephen Hackett how you

doing Stephen oh good David how are you today well first of all it's episode

499 which is kind of crazy right yeah I'm just looking at the number we're

almost there.

Next week's episode is going to, I already know what it's going to be like because we recorded it earlier.

I kind of fell apart at the beginning. I think you did that to me on purpose.

But it was a good show and looking forward to that next week,

but this week we wanted to take a minute to talk about two things.

We've got these updates coming from Apple,

you know, we're getting new operating systems for your phone,

your watch, your Mac, your TV, all these things are coming down the road.

It's been a long time since we covered on the show really how to prepare for that and I think there

are some things you can definitely do to help. This year in particular because of some big changes

on the Mac side and we have not had an opportunity to discuss backups since you came on the show.

And I think that number one, I want to hear your strategy on backups.

And number two, minds have changed a little bit over the last couple of years and the, you know, the

technology's gotten easier, but I just thought it'd be a good time to just cover the topic of

backup. So today we're going to cover backing up and getting ready for all these updates.

Yeah, the two really go hand in hand, right? You want to, before you go to an operating system,

it's a great opportunity to evaluate your backups, make sure you have everything in place.
