Summary

In this episode Tim Pilleri and Lance Reenstierna speak with private investigator Greg Overacker about the disappearance of Erica Jayne Franolich from Middleburgh, New York in October of 1986. We discuss and show video from a recent search. This is part five of five. This episode originally aired in 2020. Erica Jayne Franolich was last seen around 9 pm on October 13, 1986, near Main Street and Railroad Avenue in Middleburgh, New York. At the time, she lived with her husband, Richard, and their young son. Their marriage was troubled, and she reportedly told her brother she was afraid for her life and wanted to leave. At the time of her disappearance, Erica was 26 years old. She was 5 feet, 4 inches and weighed 100 pounds. She had brown hair and brown eyes. Erica has a mole on her left knee and protruding upper front teeth. She was last seen wearing a baggy shirt and blue denim overalls. Of our coverage of the disappearance of Erica Franulich, this five-part series originally aired in 2020, but we want to bring it to the forefront here in 2025.

0:51.1

This was a search that we went on back in October of 2020 for private investigations

0:57.5

for the missing. And we were joined by Greg Overacker, the private investigator and former

1:02.5

bounty hunter, and overall general badass, who works on Brianna Maitland's case, among many other

1:08.4

cases. He joined us on this search because he is leading

1:11.8

the case of Erica Franilich, who is a missing person out of Middleburg, New York.

1:17.8

He is leading that investigation for our nonprofit, private investigations for the missing.

1:23.8

That's right.

1:24.3

Erica went missing on October 13, 1986.

1:27.2

She was 26 years old, 5 foot 4 inches, 100 pounds. She is a white female. Her disappearance has taken us along with Greg to this area where there are numerous caves. There was some talk that there might be something of interest in one of these caves. And Greg introduced us to a woman named Emily Davis, who was a professional caver and led an incredible crew.

1:51.3

And really guided us through the process of going into these extremely claustrophobic tight spaces

1:58.3

and digging up from the bottom surface of the cave, everything that's been down there for decades.

2:05.3

And we didn't actually go into these crevices, which was lucky for us.

2:10.4

This cave was kind of like a hole in the ground, and it goes down about 30 feet.

2:15.3

And so Emily's crew sort of navigated their way down there.

2:19.9

It's really quite impressive how this entire search came together all in the name of trying

2:25.3

to help missing person, Erica Franilich. And while the items that were brought up from the

2:30.3

bottom of the cave may or may not have anything to do with Erica's disappearance,

2:34.4

the fact that we were there performing this operation, that we were actually taking charge

2:40.7

of this investigation behind Greg Overacker really speaks volumes of PIs for the Missing.
