So I was actually kind of angry at first

because the idea when I came back that year

was at WrestleMania I was going to face Ryeback.

Oh my God.

Poor R Ryback.

But at the time, Ryback was actually really hot.

And I thought for me to work with Ryback, I actually thought at one point in time he was so popular

that he could have actually worked with Undertaker at a WrestleMania and maybe been the guy to beat the streak. That's how popular he was at the time and how good he was doing.

Obviously it didn't work out too well for him.

So, considering your reaction.

But that was not the case.

I knew something was going on because every week somebody knew was getting an angle for WrestleMania. Their match was locked in, this match this match that match and I kept asking when is we starting the build for Ryback and Jericho when are we doing this and all I heard from the writers was Vince wants to talk to you on his own I'm like what does he want me to do it's like we don't know thinking, like, I knew it wasn't going to be Ryback because he started doing something

with Mark Henry.

So I'm like, what's it going to be? Like a few years earlier, I was supposed to do something with Mickey Rourke, and then it didn't work out, so it ended up me versus Piper and Snooka and whoever else is in there. Steamboat, yeah, sorry. Flay was out there, and Rourke was out there, it was kind of an attraction match.

In WrestleMania, there's matches that are kind of slotted to steal the show. There's matches that are on there just to get everybody in the card. And then there's your attraction matches. Ones that aren't supposed to be great, but people will pay money to see. So I'm like, who am I going to be wrestling against? Like, I don't know. Maybe like, maybe like, I don't know, maybe it would be Jericho versus Brad Pitt.
