Summary

Holiday season is here, and we’re entering a four week period where our behavior is often bipolar. The last two weeks of December are a food and drink debauchery, and the first two weeks of January are often a mad fitness frenzy. Can we avoid this binge-purge cycle? Should we even try? On this week’s podcast, I’ll share some of my best ideas.

  • Socially-acceptable excuses to avoid alcohol
  • Why skipping wheat-based anything can be an effective hack
  • How to accept and reject sweets effortlessly
  • Why walking can be your best choice during the holidays
  • How to get amazing deals before New Years at fitness centers

Thanks for listening to the show in 2021. I appreciate all your support, questions, and feedback. From all of us at YOGABODY, we wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and joyful New Year.

Holiday season is here and I want to make a solo podcast this week to share with you some

thoughts about how to survive the end of the year and thrive into the new year. It's the

0:12.2

Lucas Rockwood show. If you're new here, I'm a yoga teacher, a teacher trainer, a serial

entrepreneur. I'm the father of three kids, but first and foremost, I'm a student. So in a

0:20.4

typical episode, I go out and find medical doctors and researchers and yoga teachers and

0:25.3

meditation instructors and I bring their best work to you here on the show. This week will be a

0:29.3

departure from that. I thought it might be helpful. Hopefully it will help you. If I share with

0:33.6

you some health and wellness tips and insights that I've had after about 15 plus years in the

0:38.4

industry, that might help you finish the year strong and go into the new year on a really positive

0:44.8

note. To support the show in whatever app you're listening on, just scroll down and leave a

rating and review. It's always helpful if you reference a specific show that you found helpful.

schedule and whatever else I'm up to here at Yoga Body. Lastly, if you have a question for the show

1:14.9

and would like to be featured, send me a message on Instagram. It's at Lucas Rockwood. That's my

personal account and those messages go straight to me. Here we are. End of the year is upon us and

1:27.6

the behavior that I've noticed in all my years now in the health and fitness industry is that

1:32.7

most of our behavior is somewhat bipolar at the end of the year. Usually the last two weeks of

1:39.5

December, we treat our bodies horribly and then the first two weeks of January, we try to make up

1:46.1

for that debt. The net net effect is usually around mid to end of January. We're a little bit

1:52.4

worse off than we started December. The net effect is usually regressive. We usually don't return to
