Summary

Gilberto Valle III graduated with a degree in psychology and joined the NYPD and patrolled the 26th precinct. A 6+ year veteran cop, he became active on an internet forum dedicated to sexual fetishes and fantasies involving torture, rape, murder and cannibalism. He chatted with other users about kidnapping, raping, torturing, killing, and cannibalizing real women, including his wife. In most conversations, Valle made clear that what he was saying was fantasy, but other times he seemed vague or sincere in his intentions. His wife found out, and it cost him his marriage, child and badge. Then the FBI took it from there. Former cop Kendra and Jon break down the case, the conviction, the appeal and the literature. How far is too far? What's free expression and what's criminal conspiracy? And who decides? Send cases to [email protected] Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
