Welcome to the game to your life. I'm Dave Anderson with our Friday,

0:17.3

0:27.6

I will also include an occasional red zone rant, which I'm doing today, and I want to talk about

0:33.6

quit blaming bad luck.

0:36.6

Now I'm not talking about the unfortunate things that

0:38.9

happen that are beyond your control. Okay, so you just get your car washed and a

0:42.9

flock of seagulls go by and decide to have a bowel movement. Okay, that's bad

0:48.0

luck. Or you're on a 15-hour international flight and your seatmate has body

0:53.1

odor that would knock a buzzard off a carcass.

0:56.3

That's really bad luck. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about blaming your lack

of success, right, on bad luck, when really it was bad decisions. You got to look in the mirror.

1:07.6

Listen, if you missed your goals and you were lazy, that's not bad luck. That's a bad decision. If you were negative, if you were negative and it caused you to miss your goals, to miss your dreams, you didn't have bad luck. You made a really poor choice, a bad decision. If you've decided not to grow, not to work on yourself and you don't get the promotion, you didn't get bad luck. Someone else didn't get a good break. You made a bad decision. Man, you should have worked on yourself. If you choose to cut corners, cheat the process, take shortcuts, right? And you end up farther away. Or maybe you get fired. You don't just end up farther away from your goals. You lose your job. You didn't get a bad break. That's not bad luck. You made a series of bad choices. At the end of the day, here's what I've got to tell you. Bad luck is the perfume a choice loser's spray to disguise the stench of their mediocrity. Their anemic work ethic, their absent discipline, their atrocious decisions. Anybody can have a good break or a bad break, but it, come on, the course of a month,

a year, a career, a lifetime, success isn't an accident, and neither is failure. You either

2:08.0

set yourself up for it or you don't. You want better luck, start making better decisions.

2:13.4

And let me close with this. You may not be able to add years to your life, but you can add life to your years, and you can start now.

2:20.0

Stop being lived, start living the game change your life and start making better decisions.

2:25.1

The problem isn't bad luck.

2:26.3
