Katie, I'm wondering, do we want to raise our children to be open-minded in regards to various

0:06.4

religion, ideologies, principles, theories, political systems?

0:14.2

You know, it's a good question, and you and I are both curious people.

0:17.6

And so over the last 10 years since we've been married, we've had our fair share of going

0:23.7

down rabbit trails on different things that I already mentioned, philosophies, ideologies.

0:30.0

And sometimes when we're discussing these things amongst ourselves, our children are present.

0:35.4

And I've often wondered, is this confusing for them? And I do think

1:17.0

children question at a young age because children are so formidable. And I do think that it is our

1:23.7

responsibility as parents to train to lead them, to train them up in the way that they should go so that when they are old, they will not depart from that way.

1:32.2

And so while you and I might be very comfortable, you know, considering other ideas that maybe are contradictory to scripture, we would never fear of each other letting

1:47.2

those things take root in our heart or in our mind because we know that scripture is the

1:52.3

ultimate authority. And Christianity is true. But I think there is danger when you've got children

1:58.8

in your home when it's not as clear for them.

2:01.8

Well, and I think, too, I think it comes down to, you said discussing things that are contradictory
