This week we're talking about 1994's Serial Mom. This is our second audience vote episode and that's what they voted for us to

talk about. Indeed. Kat, I have to confess something. I'm so embarrassed that I didn't know

this was a John Waters film. Oh, really? I don't know how that escaped my attention. I've heard

of this film for years, never seen it, but always just kind of thought it was a sort of, I don't know, like just one of those movies that you're like, yeah, you know, it's like Kazam or one of those things you hear about and you just never see. What a ding-dong. I feel like a failed film scholar. I'm very disappointed in me. I'm very disappointed in me too.

Do you have a relationship with this film?

My dad, I think, took me to go see it when it came out.

I was going to say, it's more appropriate and then I'm not sure if it is.

I mean, my dad has taken me to see several John Waters films in my childhood.

Like, he also took me to go see Pecker. So, like, actually, this is kind of a cool pull for my day. I think it's completely a cool pull for your dad. I thought you were going to finish that sentence with, like, and that's bad? No, no. I think that's really cool. Oh, my dad has taken me too many movies. He should never have taken me to.

Absolutely.

But good job on taking me to this one. I don't think this was him particularly being like, oh, I'm going to like give her her in her inters of verse of spirit. I think it was me just seeing, oh, oh, a movie about a housewife who kills people. That sounds cool. Let's go see it. my head going, all right.
