Ladies and gentlemen welcome to another edition of Ten Gentially Speaking. I'm your host Chris Ryan. I'm sitting by the Piaet River in Central Idaho.

Not far from a town called Stanley.

Amazing spot. I found a few years ago out here running from the smoke as I seem to be doing every summer these days.

We were on our way to, I think we went to the Grand Teton's but we couldn't see the mountains. It was so smoky.

Last minute change of plans and we ended up coming up this road from Stanley to Boise up through the Sawtooth range.

It's awesome. It's really awesome back here so I've been coming back every year.

Almost didn't come this year because of the smoke.

I was up in Montana and trying to figure out where to go and the smoke map looked pretty horrible and tried to get the Stanley got blocked by road closure due to fire.

Not a good sign.

But then spent the night camping out somewhere and the next morning it looked clear, took another route, ended up getting here and it's not bad.

I don't know, I don't have internet connection so I can't check the smoke map, see what's going on out there.

But I do see Blue Sky.

A little bit of Blue Sky. That's enough for me.

I haven't been in touch for a while largely. That's been because of logistics in and out of service.

No Wi-Fi, you know, the usual.

It's also been because I've been strangely busy doing some really interesting things which I'll get to in a moment.

And then the third reason, honestly, is that I have two really close friends. I mean real inner circle type people who I love very much who have both been diagnosed with cancer in the last few weeks.

And that's kind of knocked me on my ass to be honest.

You know, it's weird to be out here.

You know, last night I was sitting out here looking down at the river. I'm in an absolutely beautiful spot.
