Today, November 8th, marks three months since the fires broke out on Maui and destroyed the former capital city of Lahaina.

The current death toll is at 99 souls, with ages of the victims ranging from as young as seven years old to as old as 97.

2,207 buildings were destroyed and the total cost of property lost is estimated at $5.5 billion.

The devastation is impossible to account for or to sum up in those numbers or in a conversation here today.

But my hope with today's show is that it sheds additional light on how those fires got so

out of hand, measures that the community is taking to mitigate future disasters.
