Summary

Today on Let There Be Talk I sit down with my friend, Comedian Chingo Bling and talk all about how he made the transition from Comedic Rapper to full on Stand Up Comedian.

Chingo is from Houston Texas where he started his Stand Up career 5 years ago but before that he was a full on Rapper with a record deal.

This was a great Comedy talk. We cover all kinds of topics like what its like opening for bands as a comedian, Early Hell gigs and taking acting classes to open up the right side of your brain.

Hope you guys dig the episode and thanks for tuning in.

Alright, here we are. Another episode will let the betalk come into you from the shaky grounds of Southern California.

0:10.0

The earthquake capital as of last week. Holy smokes. Getting through it, getting through it. But a couple big, big shakers happened.

0:21.0

A little shaken bake summer. Burnin' up hot and fuckin' crackin' some ground. How about that? Where's the earthquake weather app?

0:34.0

I love that one as grown up. Who's earthquake weather? Well, it was cold. So, is that earthquake weather? Who's earthquake weather? Well, it was fuckin' like 80 degrees. Is that earth?

0:45.0

Shut up with the earthquake weather. There is no earthquake weather when the fuckin' mother nature wants to strike. It doesn't matter if it's cold, mistin' or humid, whatever.

0:58.0

It comes out of nowhere and it reminds you, oh yeah, we're just fuckin' little spots on the earth. And this shit could change at any time. So, get out there! Do what you wanna do!

1:13.0

Like I always say. Anyway, welcome to the episode today. We got a comedian on a newer friend of mine. And this is a great episode because I relate with this guy a lot.

1:25.0

He did some comedic hip hop music for many years, signed a record deal and everything. So, he played music for years and then became a full-on comedian.

1:37.0

So, we had a great conversation. My guest is a Houston comedian, Chingo Bling. And if you've never heard of him, I'm sure you're going to because this guy has some severe drive like myself.

1:53.0

And he's also a great guy and a funny man. He was out here for a month working all over California and we sat down and talked and it was a fine conversation with a good, good chap.

2:11.0

I would have to say, it was a fine conversation with a good chap mate.

2:17.0

Anyway, I'm all crazy today because I'm feeling good man. I took a little mini vacation. The first one in, I would say, a few years. I don't really vacation much constantly trying to work.

2:33.0

And I do have that weird feeling if I do vacation. I won't be, I won't be funny. I've got to constantly get on stage. And I'm not saying I'm funny but what I'm saying is if I'm not on stage, I'm not funny.

2:49.0

I don't know. Anyway, I took a little spin out to Denver and before I even get into that, I want to just think right now, my man, Matt Latory, who, which is the beauty of Instagram and social media. There's so many evils of that stuff. But when the good stuff comes from it, it makes you love social media.

3:16.0

And Matt reached out to me. He, I guess we had met maybe or he saw me backstage at the primus show in Austin last year when I was there with Burr. And he reached out and said, I see you're into the dead in Co. And I'm working for them now.

3:35.0

If you want to come out as my guest, let me know. And I immediately hit him back and I was like, Oh, absolutely. And I booked a flight to Denver. And didn't, didn't know the guy or anything, but we met and we hit love now. We're, we're, we're buddies. And it's all social media. And I love that. And he was just a fantastic. This guy was beyond, beyond man.

4:04.0

And I just want to give him some big props for many of my mind decompress a little bit out there and bolder and watch one of the greatest touring bands out on the road right now, dead in Co. It was fantastic. And all the crew for dead in Co. We're just amazing. And even the man Bill Walton, I talked to him a little bit. And it was a little, a little.

4:34.0

It just felt good because I had lost a friend that worked for dead in Co. A long, long good old friend Chris Sharuki. So it was kind of weird to go see dead in Co and know that he wasn't around.

4:48.0

So this, this, to see the love that is spread about the crew over Sharuki still was just beautiful. And it, it, it, it, I teared up a little bit just to see that, that love around there.

5:07.0

And, and that love and that camp of music and everything else. It was, it was a beautiful weekend. Thank you, Matt. And everybody else that was on that crew. I'm sure they're all tuning into the let to be talk today.

5:22.0

Okay. Before I do get into the guests, I do want to tell you I do have that Patreon page and a lot of friends have been jumping on.

5:35.0
