Hello everybody. Before we start this episode properly I just want to say

something here about the earthquake in Mexico so not a sponsorship message not that

not yet anyway that's going to come later but I just wanted to say something about

the earthquake in Mexico which happened on the 19th of September that's

yesterday as I record this I imagine you've heard a bit about this already. Some of you might not be

fully aware of the story, but there was an earthquake in Mexico. The second of two earthquakes

that have happened recently. This most recent one, this story happens with a

particularly nasty coincidence and I think that that might have added a particularly shocking element to what is already a

terrible disaster.

So I'm just reading this paragraph from the Week UK which is an online newspaper and it goes like this.

Each year on the 19th of September, cities across Mexico stage emergency disaster simulations on the anniversary of an 8.0 earthquake

that shook the country in 1985, leaving 10,000 people dead, 30,000 people injured, and thousands more homeless.

Yesterday, that annual drill that happens, well, it's annual, happens every year, that annual drill yesterday began at 11 AM.

And then just two hours later the real thing struck killing at least 149 people.

In fact, we think that number has gone up to 200.

It's probably more by now.

So what a horrible coincidence that in Mexico every year on the 19th of September they have a simulation, a drill just to kind of prepare for earthquake and earthquake if it happens. 11 o'clock yesterday the drill happened.

Two hours later, the real thing occurred and it was a really big one.

I'm now just going to read a report from the week just to kind of give you the details.
