Welcome back to the morning mindset. My name is Carrie Green. I am your host and your guide as we walk through

this task of getting our minds aligned with the truth of God every single day as we begin. You see because if we don't

start out the day with our mind thinking the thoughts of God and what he thinks

about the situations and the people that we will encounter.

We are going to go off independent.

We're going to go rogue and we're going to botch things up.

I just have to say it as bluntly as it is because I've experienced

it so many times. And that independence that I just mentioned that gets us into trouble so often really is an outgrowth of a

misunderstanding I believe we as believers in Christ do have responsibility before God to be creatures of action, people

who take initiative in the world and get things done for his glory and for the good of

others. But we are not to do so in a way that makes us

independent of him, either in his

leadership and insight for those things that we are supposed to do,

or in his leadership and in his guidance.

We've got to learn how to be properly humble before our God, recognizing

he is the source and the means of our direction and power. We've been looking at some passages or listening to

rather some passages from a book called humility by Andrew Murray. Andrew is

one of those guys who writes in a way that just resonates with my soul.

I wanted to read you another little section of the first chapter where he

introduces the idea of us being creatures

under the rule of our Creator.

And he says, the life God bestows
