Hey everybody and welcome back to I Just Want to talk about the Bible.

I'm glad that you're here.

My name is Christian Keeter and I live in the southeast of the United States of America

with my amazing, beautiful godly wife Lacey and our two wonderful

daughters, Felicity and Serenity. So today we're going to be hopping right into what is one of the

more famous and well-known accounts from the life of Jesus and that is the feeding of the 5,000.

Interestingly enough, this is recorded in all four of the gospel accounts, Matthew, Mark,

Luke, and John. And if you want to, I say that, because if you want to get a full picture of

really what's going on in this situation, it's helpful to look at each of these four accounts

and compare them because each of them is helpful to look at each of these four accounts and and compare them

because each of them is going to bring kind of unique details to the table that's going to help

fill out the picture and in the episode description I will include the scripture references

for where they can all be found but today we'll be looking primarily at the account from

Mark although I will be reaching

over into the other gospel accounts of the same event just to fill out the picture a little bit

more and carry over some of the details. And so we're going to start here with this, and that will be

the jumping off point for the rest of the episode. So Mark chapter 6, beginning in verse 30,

and I'm going to pause along the way and comment,

beginning of verse 30, it says, the apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught,

and he said to them, come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while. For many were coming

and going and they had no leisure even to eat. And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves.
