The band is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

It was formed in 1965 in Northern California and

the original members, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreitzman, are getting together.

They're the only surviving original members of the band.

It's also the 20th anniversary of the death of the band's nominal leader, Jerry Garcia.

Well, and you and I reviewed Jerry's last show with the dead at soldier field way back when.

It makes it somewhat appropriate that they're returning to soldier field to do these shows,

Jim, because Garcia was not in great health.
