considering that it's an election year I especially think it's important that we take a bit of a

break from the weekly policy focus of the show and focus on how specific individuals have stepped up to the

plate and met their own political moments.

For today's conversation then I'm joined by Edward F. O'Keefe is the CEO of the

Theater Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation and we're discussing

his new book, The Loves of Theodore Roosevelt, which looks at the formation of the character

and the individual we know Zito Rose out through the lens of the women in his life.

His two wives, his daughter, his sisters, and of course his mother.

Really excited to chat with you on 15 different levels. I was going to start by asking you the question of

when it comes to ranking America's presidents, how high do you rank Theodore Roosevelt?

But after reading the book,

I kind of thought of a more interesting question

that actually reflects my reaction

to the loves of Theodore Roosevelt, which

is I would wager that Theodore Roosevelt is the most interesting

American president at a personal level. I'm looking back on my bookshelf here. I have books

about Theodore Roosevelt and the American athlete. I've read a book about Theodore Roosevelt and the American athlete. I read a book about

...
