Howdy folks, welcome back to the podcast today. And you know what? It would, I don't even know if it behooves me to say this, but I'm going to say it either way. And that is, it feels good, Katie, feels good being back podcasting with you. It's been a full two week break. Really? Yeah, two weeks. Has it been two weeks. So usually we do this. Sorry, you guys, my voice is out. It almost was a three week break, but here we are. So you got to put up with my voice. But usually Elish always gets me and it's like, okay, we need to record the podcast. And so I didn't actually even know we were on break. I just thought we didn't have to record any podcasts, but I actually came to you.

Usually I'm the one who doesn't want to record. I came to you and I was like, we need to

0:43.0

record a podcast. I'm missing the podcast. Which is good. Now I can hardly talk. Right. Not great

0:49.2

timing on that. But we're doing it a little differently today and that is there's no video for this podcast.

0:58.3

This feels very throwback.

1:00.1

It feels like the early days.

1:01.7

That's how the podcast started in our little apartment, holding microphones just like this.

1:06.4

And we just have six more children than we had then.

1:09.5

But we're excited to dive into today's episode. And we're going to get right to it. Okay, we're going to talk about things we can learn from the wealthy and how they parent. Okay, parenting like the wealthy. Are there things we can take from it? I think oftentimes we'll look at the tactics and the applications of different strategies that people have. And when we say, oh, I can never

1:28.7

afford that or sure, it's easy for them to say that because they've got private tutors or

1:34.5

they've got personal coaches and personal trainers and private chefs. And you end up not

1:40.3

acknowledging the kind of the strategies and the principles that are informing people's

1:45.0

decisions that could actually be helpful to your own life because you get so caught up in the

1:49.5

tactics. Or on the flip side, we can see maybe the fallen nature of humanity on display when it comes

1:59.2

to maybe what we consider as the fruits of the wealthy

2:02.3

and can kind of throw the baby out with the bathwater and say we don't want anything to do

2:06.8

with that. Why would we ever try to emulate what they're doing with their children when in

2:13.6

reality they're raising very influential children? So it just depends on, I guess, what do you want your children to be influencers of?

2:21.9

If that influence is held in the hands of people who are devoted to stewarding for a good and gracious God,

2:31.8

then that could be a wonderful thing for our earth.

2:33.5

So I do think raising

2:35.3

children of influence is something that we should all aspire to, even if that's not the kind
