Hello everyone and welcome to soccer 101.

My name is Taylor Rockwell, and on this episode, we're going to be taking a deeper look at the She Believes Cup.

0:19.5

What is it? Why is it important? And how did it come to be?

0:23.0

For those listening to this on the date of release, which would be Thursday, February 18th, the 2021 She Believes Cup kicks off today.

But given that She Believes tends to be an annual competition, I'm thinking people will be Googling this question in the future. Let's hope. So here's your

explanation. The basic idea of the She Believes Cup is that it's an invitational women's soccer

in the world. Also, Al-Garov is a very hard word to say. It turns out, I just learned that now.

1:39.7

The United States struggled early in their All-Garov cup tenure, who still hard to say, but eventually

1:44.2

won the tournament for the first time in 2000 and then proceeded to win 10 of the next 15 iterations.

1:50.4

That's not a bad result. This includes the USA's final appearance at the event when they defeated

1:55.3

France 2-0 in the championship game and then continued their good run of form in their

2:00.3

victorious 2015 World
