Summary

Know Your Rival season has arrived for 2025! We're kicking things off with the Arizona Cardinals. But the first debate is: should we be starting with the Arizona Cardinals? The Cardinals have shown some improvements under the current coaching staff and they seem to be moving in the right direction in some areas of team building. But can Kyler Murray still improve, or do we essentially know who he is at this point especially considering the offensive line hasn't improved much over last year?

The Cardinals spent a lot of their offseason dollars to make moves on the defensive line. Calais Campbell is somehow still in the league (he was drafted the same year as Joe Flacco) and the Cardinals also made the choice to spend 30 million over two years on a nose tackle that doesn't rush the passer. We close out our look at the Arizona Cardinals by previewing the late season schedule. It's set up for Arizona to continue to do Cardinals things late in the season. It begs the question, will Kyler be back for 2026?

In the second half of the show, we discuss our recent quarterback ranking exercise and some areas of regrets or things we missed as we looked over our work. An ESPN columnist disrespected Richard Sherman and a Fortune Magazine writer badly misinterpreted some data. Both are focused on in our Do Better Segment. Some local heroes on the Mariners and Seahawks earn Better at Life honors.

0:31.1	And instead of just talking a bunch of mess the entire episode, like actually, you know,
0:35.6	went back and kind of looked at some stuff to see what confirmed some of my notions about this Cardinals team and things that maybe bucked some of those notions. And I kind of think that this team might be a little more interesting than I originally thought going into this season, Brandon. Can we, could we go on a limb and call them maybe plucky? Like, I don't know. That might be the
0:57.0	best thing that we've had to say about the Arizona Cardinals in quite some time, actually.
1:03.2	And now that you're mentioning it, is it starting off with the Cardinals? Is it appropriate this
1:08.6	year? That was the thing is as I was sitting and looking over stuff and all of that.
1:14.7	I mean, I hadn't forgotten the Niners place last in the division because, I mean,
1:18.8	that's just joyful and it fills up my heart.
1:21.2	But with that said, I'd kind of forgotten that they had finished last in the division
1:25.6	and somehow it wasn't the Cardinals, but no, the Cardinals, a competitive year, but one that followed a familiar pattern that we've seen throughout, not just Gannon's tenure, but previous coaches and like Kingsbury and that sort of thing.
1:40.0	There's one thing about the Cardinals that it continues to land them as, because we kind of go about this in order of who we think might be the better of the teams within the division.
1:53.9	And every year, it just kind of seems like, well, we start out with the Cardinals because they generally are finishing last in the division.
