Adam Howley, 21 years in news, 17 nationally cover stories all over the world. Some of the biggest stories that were going on in 17 years. I pretty much was there.

Well, glad to be here, excited about it.

Yeah, more than one night I'd wake up in the middle of the night, turn the TV on and see

your face, Adam, and be like, oh, it looks cold there.

Oh, it looks rainy there.

Or, oh, Adam, that looks disastrous.

This is the perfect opportunity that i i've always wanted to

ask this question why do news programs feel that it's necessary to send somebody into the

middle of a hurricane i just want to know that okay well i'll first of all say i've been to 12

and i do agree with you concluding katrina and rita and ivan and um so first of all say I've been to 12 and I do agree with you including Katrina and Rita and

Ivan and so first of all people like to see what the elements are and when you have someone

there on the ground giving you those descriptions it does help with then just you know an anchor

sitting in New York talking over video. I will say having done that,

that one of the mantras I lived by when I was out there was I did not want to become part of

the story. So you never worry about me being rescued. I was there. I was not far away when the girl

was in the canoe and the guy walks by and the water was only this deep. Oh my God, that was hysterical.

Two other ones where guys were like, I can't stand up and you see people walking by with a dog, you know. So you never had to worry about me doing that crap. I will say, though, Jim, one of the fun parts was we were covering a hurricane in the Keys like in 2018, I think it was. and I was live and and we always find a Mason-Eye block building of some sort of an old motel usually, because they're the ones that are going to, they're not going to go anywhere. And so we're on like the third floor, and I'm out on the walkway and my photographer's back in the room where you can keep the camera dry. We had the door open, and he's shooting out of me. all of a sudden, one of those big massive ice machines comes blowing by.
