What's going on, everybody? Welcome back for another episode of Trigger. This is Triggerups number 464 here on Tuesday, June 6th.

Of course, today is the 79th anniversary of D-Day, where we saved Europe.

Yeah, there's a lot.

One thing that was nice to see was I always talk about how Europe's ungrateful,

but they were very grateful when I saw celebrations going on today and yesterday.

Yeah.

You know, they were chanting, you know, thank you America, thanks for our liberties.

So it's nice to see that at least they remember all the lives that we gave.

Yeah.

I mean, I don't know how many Americans it was exactly that died at D-Day, but I know it was a lot.

It was close to 3,000.

Really? I would think it's much higher than that.

Well, Omaha Beach was was a bloodbath, like the one that's pictured in yeah but like gold juno sword

um not not as heavily they weren't as bad yeah they were able to break through pretty easily

but in the days of Omaha but Omaha was a slog for a bit and in the days after too yeah because

the hedge groves and we weren't uh used to terrain and, yeah, it was kind of a bit.

You know, the British tried to take the key city of Khan twice. They couldn't do it. And then we just had to break out, which was Operation Cobra, I believe. And after that, it was just game over. Just over there was no way that nazi germany could

fight two war uh on two fronts you know because the russians were were coming through yeah you know

stalingrad was the turning point there they were you know they were you know i think

kursk had already happened so uh after that battle operational in terms of germany um having an offensive capability in the east was

done they had no resources to do it it was a defensive war on that end of course the russians

had 20 million men yeah i mean it was not not going to happen and then you know um you know
